年5月-6月奇妙旅行
We had a WONDERFUL time in China May-June 2004. We spent eight days in Lishe Village (where Lisa's folks live) and 11 days in Shanghai. We were also privileged to visit the Dazhou primary school where I was asked to speak to the 5th graders who were learning English. The school president/principle, Mr. Yang, told me that I was the first 'western face' to ever visit the school. The students were very thrilled to see me and gave us all a tremendous welcome.
We made many new friends including Jian, Cody, Kay and 'Wishbone' Nelson from Seattle and living in Shanghai for the past six years (picture coming soon!). Jian mentioned to me that the Shanghai mayor's office on tourism wanted to take some pictures of a 'western face' for some upcoming promotional photos. Of course I immediately stepped up and volunteered. Four photographers came to our hotel and took a bunch of pics of my smiling mug. After they were finished, the mayor's rep gave me a beautiful golden and crystal 'key to the city'! I'll get a pic of that here soon.
